Snow was on everyone's mind, but the amount that came was surprising. Our street crews worked around the clock during this years major snowstorm and Wortmann Construction was hired to remove as much snow as possible from critical intersections. We thank all residents and businesses for their patience during this time and a heartfelt "Thank-You" to the dedicated street department employees who got us out from under!

The Village will continue to address skunk concerns this year with trapper Rick Bailey working for the Village, but if your pet does come into contact with one, a solution other than tomato juice is being recommended by Paul Krebaum, a chemist with Molex, Inc., Lisle, Illinois. The formula is comprised of simple ingredients 1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide, ¼ cup of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of liquid soap. Normal bathing procedures should be used to protect the pets eyes. Following application, the solution should be rinsed off the pet with tap water. Please DO NOT TRY TO STORE THE SOLUTION or keep any excess solution after use.
Reminder: 1999 Village Stickers purchased after March 1st cost an additional $25 and if you receive a ticket the cost increases another $6.
