January

Mayor Berry announced the winners of the Christmas decoration contest. 1Howard St; St place went to the Wheeler residence, 704 2Furlane nd place to the Dernulc residence, 940 Otis Ave; 3rd place to the Minarich residence, 214 Davis Ave; 4Th place to the residence, 1200 Belleview Ave; 5th place to the Pacheco residence, 303 Thorne St.

February

The Village of Rockdale and the Rockdale Fire Department began discussion of the possible sale of the Village Hall to the Fire Department. A meeting was held between both parties to discuss options.
Mayor Henry Berry appointed Steve Chamblee as Village Trustee to fill the remaining term of Trustee Fred Kelly who moved from the village.

March

The Mayor appointed Richard Bazzarone as the new Village Building Inspector.
The Lakeview project was awarded to ‘D’ Construction. Construction was scheduled to begin soon.

April

The Mayor and the Village Trustees hosted the annual Easter Egg Hunt. A special thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Samuel Wyke, the Fire Dept., Police Dept., Smokey and his crew and Chief Baum’s wife for all the assistance in making the Easter Egg Hunt a success.

May

Trustee Sam Wyke announced that senior night has resumed. Senior night will be the third Thursday of the month from 5:30 -7:30p.m. At the Village Hall.
The annual Memorial Day parade was held May 29. A special thanks to the Rockdale Grade School band and the boy scouts for doing a fine job.
Mayor Berry appointed Steve Benus to the Village Zoning Board.

June

The Mayor and Village Trustees agreed to make a donation of $1000.00 to the Senior Services of Will County.
It was announced that Rockdale Community Fest would be September 9th. The Fest will include a car show, kids games, dunk tank and much more! Volunteers are needed to help with the fest. If you wish to help please call the Village Clerk at (815) 725- 8937
